A Crochet Afghan

Hello All I hope you are doing well. πŸ’–

I’ve been working on another design, This is an afghan that I come up with, simple design, simple border which I am still working on…

I am using Michaels – Loops & Threads Impeccable #4 weight yarn 285 yards 4.5 oz., I used 3 skeins in Lapis which they don’t have that color anymore but they have many other colors to choose from @ Loops & Threads Impeccable

And Caron Cakes which I also got a Michaels, another #4 weight yarn in Pistachio , again they don’t have that color but there’s other colors to choose from @ Caron Cakes

You can use any yarn you prefer for this design.  I used 3 skeins of the Loops & Threads Impeccable.

Chain 80 + 4 for  26″(inch) 66cm wide , I got 92 rows @ 56″(inches) 144cm long

Pattern as follows In the 4th chain from the hook 1 dc then 1 dc in the next stitch, Ch. 1 skip 1 and

1dc in the next 3 stitches ch.1 skip 1 to end and the last 2 stitches 1 dc in each.

Chain 1 turn, (I don’t chain 3 which doesn’t create that gap between  the first 2 stitches( 1 being a ch.3))

DC in the same stitch and 1 double crochet in the next stitch , Ch. 1 ,skip 1 and 1 DC in the next 3 stitches, Repeat to end.

Follow the pattern for as many rows as you would like for your Afghan.

For the border I started in a corner and sc ch 1 sc in each corner and then  single crocheted around as evenly as possible with the Caron Cakes yarn.

You can stop there or choose which ever crochet stitch you would like to use, I made 1 up using a half double crochet but tricky part is don’t complete the half double crochet yet. Pull thru that will create the first chain then chain 2 more

Then you will go into the base of the half double and slip stitch

then yarn over and create your next half double the same way in each stitch around with a half double picot ch 1 hd picot in the corners.

That’s all πŸ™‚ Until next time

Happy Crafting………
